From the recordings War Stories and Keep My Faith
Keep My Faith is based on the story of Anne Koch and on a poem she received from a medic titled: "Keep the Faith." Anne served as an Army nurse at the 93rd Evacuation Hospital in Vietnam from 1968-1969.
Lyrics
Keep My Faith
Mom and Daddy raised me very well
At a young age watching films
I was so compelled
To help
Save the brave Soldiers overseas
Then to be shocked by the amputees
Keep my faith
It's what I do
Keep my faith
Lord It's true; Keep my faith
My heart told me that I had to go
Vietnam soon called my name
Little did I know
The men
Just wanted me to hear them out
Ease their emotions and end their doubts
Keep my faith
It's what I do
Keep my faith
Lord It's true; Keep my faith
Lives I saved will not erase the scars
Caring for so many men
That had come so far
To fight
For freedom and our way of life
Making sure neighbors and friends survive
Keep my faith
It's what I do
Keep my faith
Lord It's true; Keep my faith
